Bashar al-Assad regrets the Shooting down of Turkish Jet

Bashar al-Assad the president of Syria has said he hopes that tensions between Turkey and Syria does not metamorphos to an
armed conflict.

He showed concerns following the shooting down of a Turkish jet by Syrian forces and he went futuies to say he hopes tensions between the two countries would not escalate into an armed conflict.

Turkish media reports that Syrian soldiers numbering 85, amongst whom was a general fled to Turkey on Monday night, this happens to be one of the largest mass defection since March 2011, when the conflict began.

This brings to about 35,000 Syrian refugees in Turkish refugee camps in the last days, says the Turkish Foreign ministry.
