Solutions to the Syrian crisis suffered a fresh setback today as Russia insisted it would not endorse any internationally backed plan that requires Bashar al-Assad surrendering power.
Russia's foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, said in Moscow in quote "We can not support any meddling from outside or any imposition of recipes. This also concerns the fate of the president of the country.
